View of the Curecanti Needle, a rock formation beside the Gunnison River in the Black canyon of the Gunnison (now Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park), Colorado. Denver and Rio Grande narrow gauge railroad tracks and a siding are beside the partially frozen river.
